Emmarentia residents 

We have received reports and It has been brought to my attention that Pickitup members are harassing residents for the annual 'Christmas box' and there are 3 men going around the neighbourhood demanding gifts from unsuspecting residents.

Please note that there is no obligation on any resident to give anything to a Pickitup employee, they earn a lot of money and bonuses. Our Rates and taxes surely also contribute to their Christmas gifts. In fact this practise was stopped some time ago and Pickitup management have discouraged this behaviour from their employees. Please stop giving these extra gifts as you are perpetuaring the problem and creating expectations of the Pickitup staff which not all households can necessarily afford.

This is also creating a security risk as one cannot be too sure whether the persons appearing at your gate are indeed Pick it up Employess and their presence can be exploited by would be criminal elements to get access into otherwise secure properties.
