Rashid Malek is on the Parkview Community Policing Forum, putting forward the needs of Emmarentia residents.
As a direct result of his efforts, Parkview Police raided a house in Niger Road and closed down a shebeen being operated by a domestic worker.
Residents are requested to report every criminal incident that takes place in the suburb to the police. Obtain a case number, establish the name of the investigating officer and follow up.
There is a perception that burglaries are only reported, in order to make insurance claims.
There are reports that criminals still pose as meter readers, Telkom service personnel or service providers to gain entry onto premises to commit crimes. Please ensure that neither you nor your workers allow them onto your premises. Please inform staff members regarding expected deliveries or  services. 
Parkview Police have placed senior personnel into our suburbs (REG) as sector managers. They are Supt. Ngema and Capt. Knoetze.
Crime increases towards the Christmas period so please take extra care in whatever you do.
